The UK’s largest timber and builder’s merchants Travis Perkins have been a long-term client of ours. We aim to produce high quality User Interfaces for brand new and existing features within their main website, and additional development services when required.
We were tasked to create a visual identity and responsive design for a brand new Blog on the Travis Perkins website. Named ‘Trade Corner’, this new Blog would allow Traders to search for relevant articles and view the latest news within their Trade easily and effectively through a strong user experience and interface design.
The branding for ‘Trade Corner’ focuses on the discoverability element of the new Blog on the Travis Perkins website. We also provided the client with a brand guideline document where we stated the spacing around the logo, colour rules and banner usage.
We began with low fidelity wireframing to give the client an idea of layout approaches we could utilise for the new Blog. The designs above show allocated spaces for featured/endorsed articles vs regular article modules.
The new ‘Trade Corner’ Blog design UI meant unifying the styling with the current web and brand styling throughout, along with new article banners and thumbnails. This unified approach meant the new designs fitted perfectly into the existing site. The article page design also carried through the same approach, meaning we could provide the full top level to article level experience.
